Every day, millions of people search for answers to questions like "How much mortgage can I afford?" or "What's my BMI?" or "How much will I take home after taxes?" Most calculator sites give you a number and leave you hanging.
We created Calcumina to do something different: give you the number, explain what it means, and — when it matters — show you what to do next. Because a number without context is just a number. A number with a plan is power.

We're a small team of developers, designers, and numbers nerds who believe that good tools shouldn't cost a fortune — or come with ads that make your eyes bleed.
We started Calcumina because we were tired of using calculator sites that looked like they were built in 2005, loaded slowly, and didn't work on mobile. We wanted something better. So we built it.
Today, we're adding dozens of new calculators every week, covering everything from mortgage amortization to macro nutrition. Our goal is simple: if there's a calculation you need to make, we want to be the place you go to make it.
And a growing team of contributors who share our vision: calculators that actually help.
The name comes from two ideas: Calc (for calculation) and Lumina (Latin for light). We want to shine a light on the numbers that matter — to make the complex clear and the confusing understandable.
It's also a nod to the idea that numbers, like light, can illuminate your path forward. A mortgage interest total might shock you, but it can also show you where to focus your energy. A BMI number might surprise you, but it can also guide your health journey. We're here to provide the light — and the tools to use it.
